Scottish Open 2016 (again)

Scottish Fencing has recently announced that the next Scottish Open will be held on the weekend of 15th/16th Oct. (Previously the Scottish Open was usually held on the first weekend in January.)

So this is your chance to enter the second Scottish Open of 2016. Please note that entry has now closed, late entry may be available.

Aberdeen Open 2016

This six weapon event held in Aberdeen over the weekend of 16th/17th July is open to all fencers over the age of 13.  The venue has changed from last year to the world class facilities at Aberdeen Sports Village

Scottish Intermediates Championships 2016

Wallace Fencing Academy will be hosting this year's Scottish Intermediates Championships on the weekend ot 28/29 May.

The Scottish Intermediates is a new competition designed with the relatively new fencers in mind.

It is open to all fencers , over 13, who have yet to achieve a medal in a Domestic Open event. 

Celtic Challenge 2016

The Celtic Challenge is a biennial event for veteran (over 40s) fencers, contesting all six weapons in an individual open tournament. There are competitions for both men and women, with one single age class: above 40 years of age.  This is an invidual competition but nations nominate 3 fencers to make up the scoring team for the overal team result.  There is no limit on the number of individual fencers for each nation.

The 2016 event will be hosted by Ireland and will take place on 23-24 July 2016 at Dublin City University.

Veterans Home International 2016

This year's 4 Nations Veterans team match will be in Durham on the weekend of April 9th/10th.  Several of our club members will be competing for spaces on the team.

Selection of the teams will be in line with the published criteria - check Scottish Fencing website for more details.

As usual there will be a Gala Dinner on the Saturday evening at Durham Old Town Hall, Market Place, Durham. Arrive 7.30 for 8pm serving. Cost - £30. 

Edinburgh Open 2016

Dundee Duel 2016

The annual 1-hit epee competition held by Richard Wilbraham (on behalf of Dundee City Fencing Club).  Enter as a team of 3 or individually (you will be allocated to a team).

Entry cost is £18 per fencer (or £27 with T-Shirt).  Free event mug for all entrants. Closing date for entries is 2nd March (18th Feb if you want a T-Shirt).

Note there is a maximum of 72 entrants for the event.

Glasgow Master at Arms 2016

The second Glasgow Master at Arms event will be held on Sunday 1st May 2016 - note this is a change to the original date of Saturday 30th April.

Due to problems with booking the ARC at Cally Uni, this year's event will be held at Linlithgow Academy (EH49 6DF) - ie Wallace Fencing Academy.

Elle has offerred to host a social event at her place after the event.

Stirling Sword 2016

The Stirling Sword is a unique event run by Stirling University Fencing Club on the weekend of 30/31 January 2016.  The first day has mixed team competitions for each of the three weapons.  The second day has individual competitions for each of the three weapons.

You can enter as part of a team or just the individual event or both. You may change weapons between the team and individual events - but only 1 weapon per day.
