Elgin Duellist Fencing Club will be hosting the Highland Open 2015 will be held at Elgin Academy on the weekend of 24th/25th October.

The competition consists of 6 weapons fought over 2 rounds of pools followed by DE, as well as a mixed secondary competition.

Scottish Intermediates Championships 2015

The Scottish Intermediates is a new competition designed with the relatively new fencer in mind.

It is open to all fencers , over 13, who have yet to achieve a medal in a Domestic Open event. Fencers who have been placed in the last 4 of a Men's Epee or Foil event or the final of a Men's Sabre or any Ladies event are not eligible to fence. In this way we hope to encourage more fencers to start competing.

Cumberland Open 2015

This year's Cumberland Open will be held on the weekend of 13th/14th June in Carlisle.  Hosted by Herdwick Fencing Club and Austin Friars St Monica's School.

This is a very friendly competition just across the border, which we have supported for many years.

Format is one round of poules followed by direct elimination.

Linlithgow Foil 48er

The final 48er in the series for this year.  A Foil only event held by Wallace Fencing at their usual Linlithgow Academy venue.  A great chance for all levels of Foilist to experience a fun all-day competition.

The cash prizes for the overall winners of all 6 rounds will also be awarded at the end of the day.

Veterans' 4 Nations 2015

The Veterans' 4 Nations International is a 6 weapon team event between Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales which will be held over the weekend of 18th/19th April 2015.

To qualify as a veteran in fencing you only need to be over 40 - if you think you would like to get involved (and possibly be selected to represent your country) please contact scottish.fencing.veterans@gmail.com

Glasgow Open 2015

Once again Scotland's largest and friendliest fencing tournament run by Wallace Fencing Academy will be held at Hutchensons Grammar School in Glasgow.

This is a six weapon event with a free secondary competition.

The competition usually needs to cap the number of entries - especially in Men's Foil and Epee - so get your entries in soon.  Online entry is available via the link below.

As usual, GWEFC will be providing catering services and there will be on-site Physiotherapy services.

 

Linlithgow Epee 48er

Aberdeen Open 2015

The Doric Open has morphed into the Aberdeen Open and will be run by Aberdeen City Fencing Club.

The six weapon competition will be run over the weekend 28th/29th March 2015.

Dundee Duel 2015

The annual 1-hit epee competition will be held in the Mayfield Sports Centre in Dundee.  This is run in teams of 3 - either enter on your own or arrange your own team.

Sabre 48er

Start the new year off with some Sabre.  Wallace Fencing Academy is holding the next in its series of 48er competitions on Saturday 17th January 2015.  This one will be a Sabre event.

Great opportunity for competition novices (and the more experienced) to spend a whole day fencing a with a variety of fencers.
