Scottish Fencing has announced that the date for this year's Scottish Open will be the weekend of 25th/26th November 2023.

All events will have two rounds of poules

This annual 6-weapon Open event will return over the weekend of 1st/2nd April 2023.

This is an open competition open to all British Fencing members with a "Compete" licence (13+ on 01/01/2023). The event is NON-RANKING. Check-in times are provisional and are subject to change.

Entry caps will be put in place.

Format

2 rounds of poules, followed by direct eliminations. Both rounds of poules contribute to ranking for the direct eliminations.

The annual Veterans 4 Nations match will be held in Dublin on the weekend of 25th/26th March.

The British Veterans Fencing (BVF) are holding this competition as part of the European Veterans Fencing (EVF) Circuit in FOIL, EPEE and SABRE and will go on to the ranking list used for GB selection.

SSS Beginners is back as part of the Scottish Student Games – the multi-sport event that takes over the City of Edinburgh and the City of Glasgow!

This fencing event is open to any fencer currently studying at a university or further education college and who started fencing in September 2020. Ideal for fencers looking to do their first competition.

Date: 4th-5th February 2023

Time: TBC (likely 1000-1730)

The Team and Individual mixed-gender events will be held over the weekend of 21st/22nd January by the University of Stirling Fencing Club.

Team events will be poules of 3/4 teams followed by direct elimination. Individual events will be 2 rounds of poules followed by direct elimination. Packed lunches will be provided for each competitor each day.

As Stirling Sword is classed as a recreational event, fencers require at least a BF recreational licence in order to compete.

Elgin Duellist Fencing Club is holding their annual 6-weapon open competition on the 24th/25th September. This event will be supported by Leon Paul Scotland. 

There will be 2 rounds of poules followed by Direct Elimination. This is a BF ranking competition. In addition, there will be a mixed Secondary competition.

Leon Paul Scotland will be providing their shop and armoury services.
