Newsletter

So that some of our more infrequent members can keep up with what's going on at the club we have produced the first in a series of newsletters. Following Scottish Fencing's good example, this is available in PDF format - although some printed copies will be available at the club.
If you have any comments or items for inclusion in the next newsletter, please mail them to newsletter@glasgowfencing.com. The closing date for submissions for the next issue is August 26.

Beginners Course

The club will be organising the another 10 week beginners course running from April to June 2006. Places are strictly limited so book early since the last course was over subscribed.

Beginners Course

Since the demise of Strathclyde University's Further Education Fencing class, the club has been asked about running some formal beginners coaching. So starting in January we will be organising the first of these 10 week courses - hopefully, these will be repeated throughout the year and may lead on to some intermediate level courses.

Highland Open

Details and entry forms have been added to the Competitions page. We are looking for a large turn out from GWEFC at this year's Highland - and to have everyone make their check-in too. Maria has been challenged with organising us.

West End Festival

Members of the club will be demonstrating (ie recruiting) at the Glasgow West End Festival on Sunday 12, June - come and see us between 2 - 3pm near the flagpole in the Botanic Gardens.

GWEFC 48er Results

The results are now available - medal winners photos added.

GWEFC 48er

Apparently we are having a 48er this year - so get your entries in. The Competitions section now has a link to download the entry form.

Club AGM

The club had one of the quickest AGMs on record - possibly something to do with the fact that most people were too busy eating pizza to raise raise any objections.

Club AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Glasgow West End Fencing Club will be held on Thursday 11th November 2004 at 9.00 pm in Pizza Hut, 203-205 Argyle Street, Glasgow. We will stop fencing at 8:30 on that evening.

10th Anniversary Dinner Dance

Just a reminder that the club's 10th anniversary dinner dance will take place on Sat 30th October (ie next weekend) in the Hilton Grosvenor Hotel, 1 - 10 Grosvenor Terrace, Glasgow G12 0TA (corner of Byres Road, Great Western Road, Glasgow).

The theme is 60s/70s not 70s/80s as was originally stated.

Be there for 7pm sharp - otherwise you'll miss your dinner.
